The New York Jets open the 2021 regular season with an intriguing matchup.
New York is set to take on Carolina in Week 1 of the regular season. The Jets, of course, traded quarterback Sam Darnold to the Panthers earlier this offseason. New York received a 2021 sixth-round pick and second-and-fourth-round picks in 2022 in exchange for Darnold.
The Jets have a new quarterback in Zach Wilson, who was taken at the top of the 2021 NFL Draft out of BYU.
Wilson had a brutally honest admission on facing Darnold to open his NFL career.
“It’s typical by the NFL, but it’s exciting. That’s what people want to watch. We’re in the entertainment business and that’s what’s fun. It’s fun for us as well. I’m sure Sam’s excited. He’s a great player and I’m excited to play those guys,” Wilson admitted.
