The elements certainly can play a factor when it comes to playoff football. On Monday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was made aware of the Saturday high of 27 degrees. To which Taylor smiled, as the Las Vegas Raiders are set to come to town.
“The high Saturday is slated to be 27 degrees,” tweeted Bengals writer Paul Dehner Jr.
“Zac Taylor on Monday said smiling, ‘it’s not a disadvantage.’” Noting, “Derek Carr for his career in games where kickoff temp was even 37 degrees or less? 0-5, never scored more than 17 points, one game with a passer rating over 78.”

Taylor and the Bengals are preparing for the team’s first home playoff game since the 2015 season. After an unlikely run to an AFC North title, Cincinnati enters the postseason with well-rested starters as they look to finally make some noise in the playoffs.
The Raiders will certainly have to adjust to the Ohio cold when they come to Cincinnati. As Dehner Jr. tweeted, QB Derek Carr has a history of struggling in cold weather games. As he’s spent most of his football life in sunny California, Texas and now Las Vegas.
The Bengals and Raiders kickoff at 4:30 PM ET Saturday on NBC.
