On Friday, WWE legend Triple H announced that he’s retiring from in-ring action. He made this announcement during an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.
The reason Triple H will not compete in the ring anymore is because he went into heart failure last September. This came after a bout with viral pneumonia.
“I will never wrestle again,” he told Smith, via ESPN. “First of all, I have a defibrillator in my chest, which, you know, probably not a good idea for me to get zapped on live TV.”
Unsurprisingly, WWE fans are upset that he’s retiring. However, they understand it’s important that he puts his health and family first at this time.
“Thanks for giving me so many bangers, rivalries, memories and moments over the years,” one fan said. “Thanks for entertaining me throughout My childhood and being part of My fav all time tag team. Sucks you didn’t get a proper retirement match but health is more important.”

“Very bittersweet; the man gave us so much in the ring & it’s hard to think we wont see one more match, but also very happy for him to take care of himself & be there as a father,” another fan wrote. “Nothing but respect for Triple H, thank you sir for a spectacular in ring career.”

WWE star Lexi Kaufman, otherwise known as Alexa Bliss, also shared her thoughts on Triple H’s retirement.
“The man who came up with the concept of ‘Alexa’s playground’ so talented in and out of the ring,” Kaufman wrote. “Thank you for everything Triple H what an incredible in-ring career.”

Triple H was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
There’s no doubt that Triple H will exit the ring as one of the greatest performers the WWE universe has ever seen.
