Watch: College Quarterback’s Banana Eating Style Goes Viral

August 17, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Penn State quarterback Will Levis is fired up.

Will Levis made the big decision to jump from Penn State, where he failed to unseat Sean Clifford as starting quarterback, to Kentucky earlier this year. That has paid off so far, and as a result we’re learning some interesting things about young QB.

Levis was named the starter by head coach Mark Stoops over the weekend. He beat out Joey Gatewood and Beau Allen in a pretty interesting battle for the starting job. With the pretty early call, it sounds like Levis definitely stood out from the pack for the Wildcats, and he’s expected to get the nod when the team opens its season on Sept. 4 against Louisiana-Monroe.

With that news, Kentucky fans are diving in to find out more about their new quarterback. One of the most bizarre revelations is the particularly savage way in which Levis eats bananas.

With Levis installed as starter, a video he posted to TikTok on July 3 is now making the rounds. In it, he eats a pretty overripe banana, peel and all, whole. It is a truly shocking start.

“I don’t fear the brown spots on bananas. They fear me,” Levis wrote in the caption.

During Kentucky football’s training camp, Levis has been lauded for his huge arm, which ultimately sets him apart from the rest of the roster.

“Cannon for an arm.. It’s gonna remind some people of Tim Couch/Jared Lorenzen style offense” pic.twitter.com/IbFpu6btJc

Stoops says Will Levis “just won the job” with incredible talent, arm strength and efficient operation of the offense. “This was clear.”

Says first throw in the stadium was a 65-yard TD strike and on graded reps, he’s been 74 percent.

Levis was 33-of-55 for 421 yards and a touchdown for Penn State last year. We’ll find out what he has this year, especially once October rolls around. The Wildcats have games against Florida, LSU, and Georgia in consecutive weeks to start the month.
