NFL teams need to get their rosters down to 8o players before Tuesday’s deadline. We’re starting to see a lot of notable cuts across the league.
Monday morning, the Washington Football Team released a notable wide receiver.
Steven Sims, a 25-year-old wide receiver out of Kansas, was released by the NFC East franchise. Sims had made an impact throughout his first two seasons in the league. He had 61 catches for 575 yards five touchdowns in his first two years, adding 1,047 return yards.
However, the Washington Football Team added some talent at the wide receiver position this offseason, including former Panthers standout Curtis Samuel.
The Washington Football Team officially released Sims on Monday morning.
Washington released WR Steven Sims, as they get moving on trimming the roster from 85 to 80. Had 61 receptions for 575 yards and 5 TDs in his first two seasons in the league.

According to Washington Football Team insider JP Finlay, Sims took a big step back during the 2020 season.

The Washington Football Team is scheduled to open the 2021 season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kickoff for that season opening game is scheduled for 1 p.m. E.T.
The game is scheduled to air on CBS.
