A serious bidder has emerged for the Denver Broncos. According to the New York Post, Walmart’s Rob Walton is expected to submit a bid for the franchise that’s worth more than $4 billion.
Walton, the son of Walmart founder Sam Walton, is one of the wealthiest people in the world. Forbes has his estimated net worth at roughly $70 billion.
This Friday is the deadline for opening bids. It’s been reported the Broncos are only accepting offers of at least $4 billion.
So far, the only other notable figure who has publicly announced their plans to make a bid for the Broncos is Byron Allen. Additionally, Robert F. Smith has been linked to the franchise.
We’d imagine Walton is a serious suitor to become the newest owner of the Broncos.

For comparison’s sake, David Tepper purchased the Carolina Panthers in 2018 for $2.275 billion.
If Walton wins this bid, he’d be the wealthiest owner in the NFL. Tepper currently holds that title with an estimated worth is $16.7 billion.
