On Saturday morning, ESPN’s College GameDay made its triumphant return to the screen – but there was one person in particular who stole the show.
Beloved analyst Lee Corso finally made his return to the set after a year-long hiatus. The 86-year-old former head coach did the 2020 season from home due to the pandemic, but he was back on the set this morning.
His return to the show was marked by a few words from some of the biggest college football coaches in the country. The likes of Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney and Jimbo Fisher all had a message for Corso.
Corso couldn’t help but get emotional during the tribute.

While he was feeling sentimental, he wasted no time doling out the predictions. During the first half hour of the show, Corso opened up about Alabama‘s chances to repeat as the national champion.
It’s safe to say he doesn’t think it’s going to happen. Here’s what Corso had to say about the Crimson Tide, via 247Sports:
“One big question I’m admiring — can Alabama go back to back and win two national championships,” Corso said during Gameday’s opening storylines segment. “The question is, percentage-wise, not so fast my friend. In the past, Alabama has had many chance to win it and has not won (back to back) national championships since 2012.”
Corso is a national treasure and it’s great to see him back on the show.
