With the NCAA Division I men’s basketball national championship game taking place in New Orleans, it’s only fitting that the national anthem comes with a twist.
Before tipoff between Kansas and North Carolina, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band performed the national anthem alongside Tarriona “Tank” Ball.
The band did an excellent job of bringing that jazz flair to the national anthem, that’s for sure.
Although it was vastly different from a standard rendition of the national anthem, the majority of the college basketball world loved this performance.

“If you didn’t see it and hear it, do yourself a favor and check this out,” one fan said.
“That was refreshing,” another fan wrote. “Save it purists. This is NOLA.”
With this performance officially in the books, it’s time to watch two of the most historic programs in college basketball history compete for a national title.
College hoops fans can watch this showdown between Kansas and North Carolina on TBS.
