Ahead of Saturday night’s Final Four game between Villanova and Kansas, Jay Wright shared a heartfelt moment with one of his players.
Wright’s Wildcats weren’t at full strength against the Jayhawks. Villanova’s Justin Moore suffered a serious injury in the Elite Eight and has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament.
Before tipoff on Saturday night, Wright spent some time with Moore on the bench. He had his arm around him while starting lineups were being introduced.
It was a classy gesture and heartfelt moment from Wright and the Villanova star.

It’s hard to imagine what Justin Moore is going through. Jay Wright seems to understand a bit. What an awesome gesture from the Villanova head coach.
The Wildcats’ run to the Final Four has been nothing short of memorable. They took care of business against Delaware in the First Round, snuck past Ohio State in the Second and then got past Michigan in the Sweet 16. They then beat the red-hot Houston Cougars to reach the Final Four.
Kansas is a whole different animal, though. The Jayhawks have the size and speed to battle Villanova. It’s a shame Moore is out with an injury.
