According to reports, the Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with veteran running back Mike Davis, who’s now set to hit free agency.
Davis, 29, was informed on Monday morning that he is being released.
The move could be salary cap focused, as the Falcons are saving close to $3 million against the salary cap with the release.

Fans are wondering what this’ll mean for the Falcons offense.
“I loved watching Patterson last year, but his real fantasy value was when he was playing receiver more than season end when he was used as a more prototypical rb,” one fan tweeted.
“He wasn’t good last season. But I really liked him and it looked like he was putting in a lot of work this offseason,” another fan added.
I’m not surprised the Falcons cut Mike Davis, especially after drafting Allgeier on Saturday. Davis seems like a good guy and he’s got plenty in the tank, he’ll land on his feet somewhere

It’ll be interesting to see where Davis lands.
