The deal is expected to two-year, $17 million contract, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Through six games as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans in 2021, Taylor logged 966 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions en route to a 2-4 record. While his stats didn’t exactly jump off the page, the former Pro Bowler is certainly one of the more attractive backup options in the league.
The New York organization remains committed to Jones as the team’s starting quarterback this year despite a regime change earlier this offseason. That being said, if the former first-round pick continues to face some of the same struggles he experienced through his first three NFL seasons, Taylor could put some pressure on as a possible QB1 contender in 2022.
Taylor is an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of his one-year, $5.5 million deal with the Texans in 2021. If he does join the Giants in 2022, it will be his sixth NFL team through 12 years in the league.
