This year’s 2022 NFL Draft class is absolutely stacked with wide receiver talent — including Alabama stud Jameson Williams.
Transferring to Tuscaloosa after two seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Williams lit up the college football world as one of the most explosive wide receivers in the nation this past season. Through 15 games with the Crimson Tide he logged 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns — solidifying himself as an elite deep-ball threat.
As Williams prepares to transfer that explosiveness over to the NFL level, ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay compared the 21-year-old wideout to one of the fastest players in the league.
McShay believes Williams would be a good replacement for Tyreek Hill on the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster.
“Jameson Williams is the closest thing to Tyreek Hill in this draft. With that speed, not only vertically but after the catch, he will give you that big-play element that [the Chiefs] are gonna miss without Tyreek Hill,” he said during a recent appearance on Get Up.
“When he gets healthy and he gets right, come late in the season… you’re going to have a dynamic difference maker. When he was healthy, he was the No. 1 wide receiver in this class.”

This comparison to Hill only works if Williams can return to 100% following his devastating ACL tear during the 2021 National Championship game.
Williams was unable to participate in the combine due to his surgery in January. But if he were able to participate, the former Bama star believes he would’ve run the fastest 40-yard dash in the class.
“I just know nobody could run with me,” Williams said during a press conference in March. “I don’t know no 40 time. I just know nobody could run with me. Just say whatever the fastest 40 time here is — I’m faster.”
The Chiefs currently hold the No. 29 and No. 30 picks in the 2022 draft. They would almost certainly need to trade up in order to land a talented player like Williams.
