Tiger Woods gave it a valiant effort, but he quickly found himself out of contention to win his sixth green jacket. That honor instead goes to 25-year-old Scottie Scheffler, who took command early and never relinquished it.
After Scheffler won the Masters with a 10-under score, Woods took to his Twitter to congratulate the young golfer on his first career major.
“I didn’t play my best out there, but just to have the support and appreciation from all the fans, I don’t think words can describe that,” Tiger tweeted. “Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on an outstanding win. It’s been a special run.”

Scheffler was able to hold on to his five shot lead with three holes to go in the final round. Staving off Rory McIlroy by three strokes when it was all said and done.
World No. 1, first major championship and a green jacket? Sounds like a heck of a weekend to me.

With the win at Augusta, Scottie Scheffler’s dominant run continues. He’s now won four of his last six PGA events, and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Scheffler also joins Jordan Spieth and Tiger himself as the only golfers to win the Masters at age 25 or younger over the past 40 years.
