Tiger Woods showed up to Augusta National on Sunday afternoon in a Nike hat, Nike polo, Nike pants and…FootJoy spikes?
The 15-time major champion, who is sponsored by Nike for his apparel, was spotted wearing black FootJoy spikes at Augusta National on Sunday afternoon.
Woods, who is about 14 months removed from his serious car accident in Southern California, is hoping to play in The Masters this week. Woods has yet to make an official decision, though he’s at Augusta National, beginning preparation.
There appears to be an issue with Woods’ Nike footwear.

The golf world is still pretty surprised to see this.
“Someone’s getting fired….They couldn’t figure out a pair of shoes for Tiger in he past 6 months….How’s that possible? He’s been a company cash cow for 25 years,” one fan tweeted.
Still efforting for details but biggest shocker so far is Tiger showing up in what looks to be FootJoy Premiers today. Did NOT see that coming. pic.twitter.com/e8zzKYpbNx

As Golf Digest notes, though, this is not the first time in his career that Woods has gone outside of his equipment norm.
Still, it’s pretty surprising to see something other than Nikes on Woods’ feet.
The 2022 Masters are set to begin on Thursday. Hopefully we’ll see Woods walking the course – in whatever shoes work.
