After finishing his first round at the Masters in the top 10 and within striking distance of the lead, Tiger Woods came back down to earth today.
Tiger began his second round at the Masters at 1-under with a tie for 10th at Augusta. But his first five holes were the stuff of nightmares, putting his chances of making the cut at serious risk.
The 15-time major winner had a bogey on the par-4 first hole, instantly falling out of the top 10. After a par on the second hole, he bogeyed twice on the third and fourth holes. He sat at 2-over heading into the fifth hole.
Tiger is lucky that he got off to such a good start yesterday because every hole is going to put him in danger of getting cut now. As of writing, the projected cut line is 4-over, though it might drop to 5-over if the rest of the field starts struggling.
The sports books aren’t exactly showing Tiger the love right now:

The fact that Tiger Woods made it to the Masters is already an accomplishment for him. If Woods manages to make it into the weekend – even five or more strokes off the lead – it’ll be a testament to his greatness.
But not every Tiger story can have a fairytale ending. We’ll be monitoring Tiger closely in the hours to come as he continues to play Round Two of the Masters.
The Masters is being played on ESPN and Masters.com.
