The Los Angeles Rams joined teams in making a series of cuts to get just a bit closer to their final roster number on Monday afternoon.
The Rams announced that they waived six players just after 3 p.m. ET on Monday. The team revealed that it had let go of three defensive backs and three offensive players ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man deadline.
The most notable of the Rams transactions was waiving Troy Warner, the younger brother of San Fransisco 49ers standout linebacker Fred Warner. The undrafted rookie out of BYU played well in LA’s three preseason games, but ultimately didn’t do enough to warrant a spot on the final roster.
Warner joined defensive back Brontae Harris, wide receiver Jeremiah Haydel, guard Jeremiah Kolone, guard Jordan Meredith, and defensive back Donovan Olumba as the other players that the Rams waived Monday.

Although the Rams cuts on Monday got the roster closer to the 53-man mark, the organization still has some work to do. Team leadership will have until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday to make their final cuts.
Los Angeles has expectations of a deep playoff run in 2021, after somewhat of a busy summer. The Rams traded for quarterback Matthew Stafford and sured up talent elsewhere to give head coach Sean McVay a talented grou[ headed into a new season.
In less than 24 hours, the Los Angeles coaching staff will know which 53 players they have to work with this fall. Then, the Rams can turn their focus to playing the Chicago Bears on Sept. 12.
