The Raiders were a question on Jeopardy! May 20th, 2025.
Sorry in advance for spoiling the answer question to Tuesday’s Final Jeopardy! clue, but it’s the Las Vegas Raiders — or at least their home state — in the category “NFL Geography”.
Here is the clue from May 20th’s episode:
“It’s the state with the lowest population density that’s home to an NFL team”
The answer: Nevada
While Las Vegas is populated, the state of Nevada is not, coming in 42nd out of 50 total states with 29 people per square mile.
The first contestant to answer guessed Colorado, home to the Denver Broncos, the state that is second on the list of NFL state population density at 57 people per square mile. Colorado is 37th on the list of state population density.
The second contestant guessed Minnesota, home to the Vikings, with a density of 72 people per square mile. It’s fourth on the list of NFL state population density (Arizona is third) and 30th overall.
Of course, the state of California is much higher so the answer would have been different just a few years ago qhen the Raiders were in Oakland. California has 250 people per square mile, which is 11th of the 50 U.S. states.
If they had asked the question with the highest population density, the New York Jets and New York Giants would have shared the distinction in New Jersey followed by Massachusetts and the New England Patriots. Then the Baltimore Ravens and followed by the Florida teams.
