The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off an NBA Finals win. As long as Anthony Davis re-signs as expected, the Lakers will be title favorites again in 2020-21.
Los Angeles isn’t content with the status quo, though.
According to a report this week, the Lakers are showing interest in a potential blockbuster offseason trade. Los Angeles appears to have interest in a four-time All-Star shooting guard.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reports that the Lakers have shown interest in San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan. The Spurs are believed to have interest in trading the shooting guard, who’s a California native.
“They’re also looking to unload LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan; I’ve heard the Lakers have interest in acquiring DeRozan (for Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green), and as mentioned, the Warriors may want Aldridge,” O’Connor writes of the Spurs.
DeRozan isn’t a great 3-point shooter, so he might not be an ideal fit on the Lakers. Still, he would instantly become the third-most talented player on the Los Angeles Lakers roster.
And, with the Western Conference set to be even more loaded in 2020-21, the Lakers could always be in need of a talent upgrade.
The NBA’s offseason is set to really heat up soon.
