One college basketball insider isn’t buying all the Gonzaga to a new conference talk.
On Wednesday, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman shot down the idea that the Bulldogs will be on the move in the near future. Tweeting, “Gonzaga and Big East rumors. Just bad rumors. Never say never, but not happening anytime soon.”

Gonzaga has been tied to Big East realignment for several months now. However, there’s never really been anything concrete to the Zags jumping from the WCC to the opposite conference.
It’s already been nearly a decade since the original Big East that showcased all kinds of basketball powers broke up for football schools to pursue greener pastures.
The conference was nearly left for dead not too long ago. But the return of UConn’s program really helped.

Obviously, landing a school like Gonzaga would be an incredible get for any conference. Mark Few has built the Bulldogs program into an outstanding year-in and year-out, really since taking over back in 1999.
That said, Goodman says the Big East shouldn’t hold their breathe on the Zags switching coastal alignments.
