The 5 NFL QBs Most Likely To Win Their First Super Bowl This Season

Last season, Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl ring and his first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Winning four of the last seven Super Bowls, Brady has been so dominant that it has been extremely difficult for any other QB to win a Super Bowl. Of the remaining active NFL QBs, only Patrick Mahomes, Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco have won the big game. With a bunch of talented QBs left without a Super Bowl win, let’s rank the five quarterbacks with the best chance of winning that first ring this season.

1. Josh Allen:

   If Allen can improve even half as much as he did from 2019 to 2020, the Bills should be in a really good position to bring home the Lombardi Trophy. Allen’s chemistry with WR Stefon Diggs got better and better as the season went on and with the Chiefs lacking depth on the offensive line, this season might be the Bills‘ best shot at winning the Super Bowl since 1994.

2. Dak Prescott:

   After a brutal injury, Dak Prescott’s 2020 season came to an abrupt stop and so did the Cowboys chances at winning meaningful games. A rejuvenated and newly paid Prescott paired with a stacked and improving group of wide receivers just might be recipe the Cowboys need to end their over 20 year Super Bowl drought. It doesn’t hurt that the Cowboys play in one of, if not the worst divisions in the NFL.

3. Matthew Stafford:

   Stafford has been putting up big numbers for years in the NFC North, but has failed to win a single playoff game. Now that he’s starting fresh in LA with Sean McVay and the star-studded Rams, it might be time for Stafford to level up from talented QB to elite quarterback. It’ll be interesting to see if Stafford can replicate the chemistry that Cooper Kupp and Jared Goff were able to build.

4. Lamar Jackson:

   At times, Lamar Jackson makes NFL defenses look silly, but for one reason or another, teams seem to figure him out by the time the playoffs come around. If Lamar and his young supporting cast can become even 10% more versatile, maybe they won’t fall behind and find themselves unable to put points on the board in a playoff game. The Ravens have shown that they can beat just about anybody, so don’t be shocked if Lamar is able to lockdown his first Super Bowl ring.

5. Baker Mayfield:

   Baker Mayfield silenced (almost) all of his haters last season after leading the Browns to an 11-5 record. If it weren’t for a few plays, Cleveland’s 22-17 Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs could have gone the other way. With a talented supporting cast and a stacked defense, the Browns just might be able to bring a Super Bowl to Cleveland.

Honorable mention – Kyler Murray:

If it weren’t for the completely stacked NFC West, Murray and the Cardinals may have had a chance to take a leap into Super Bowl contention. Even with the veteran additions of J.J. Watt and A.J. Green, the Cardinals may lack the experience needed to win it all.

According to Draft Kings, the Chiefs (+500), Bucs (+750)  and Packers (+1100)  have the best odds of winning this season’s Super Bowl. The Ravens (+1300), Bills (+1400), Rams (+1400), Browns (+2200) and Cowboys’ (+2800) odds aren’t quite as good but are definitely seen as potential Super Bowl contenders headed into 2021.
