Despite the latest comments, there could be a possibility that the Las Vegas Raiders could trade wide receiver Jakobi Meyers before the 2025 regular season. According to a report, Meyers wants to remain a Raider, but that’s “all” he will say for now, so is there something fans don’t know about? This could be speculation on his comments, but even if he wants to stay in Las Vegas, there’s no chance that the Raiders have the same feelings for him. Originally selected as an undrafted rookie free agent, the former NC State product was able to re-establish himself as a reliable weapon in the league with the Raiders are spending the first three seasons with the New England Patriots.
He earned a three-year contract with the Patriots despite the rebuilding era they were entering, so the team had no other choice but to let him walk in free agency. The same case could happen here in Las Vegas, as they hired new head coach Pete Carroll, and he will likely instill his own philosophy that might not fit Meyer’s vision. Despite that, he was able to record 87 receptions for 1,027 receiving yards and four touchdowns, so he should have some type of market if the Raiders decide to make him available for a trade. Meyers did all of this even when the Raiders had inadequate quarterbacks in former quarterback Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell, so one can imagine what he can do with these three teams if the Raiders trade him.

Possible Destinations
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints don’t have an adequate quarterback situation, but it’s nothing that Jakobi Meyers hasn’t been a part of before. If Chris Olave leaves in a possible trade before the 2025 campaign, it’s possible the Saints could trade for a receiver like Meyers, as he’s still in his current contract with one year in it. This means they don’t have to commit to him for more than a season, so this would give whoever will become the starter some breathing room to establish themselves under head coach Kellen Moore.
Brandin Cooks is way past his prime to be a No. 1 receiver anymore, and Rashid Shaheed is only a WR2 at best. Meyers would be worth snagging as their main contributor for the offense.
Dallas Cowboys
Meanwhile, just because they got George Pickens this offseason, it doesn’t mean they can’t get another wide receiver. Jalen Tolbert is good, but he is nowhere near the level where Meyers is. Even though Meyers prefers to be the main contributor for Dak Prescott’s offense, imagine having three dynamic receivers on one roster. CeeDee Lamb, Pickens and Meyers would have their work cut out as it’s own individual No. 1 receiver. Tolbert is entering the final year of his contract as well, so they could boost the competition for him by getting Meyers.
Baltimore Ravens
However, the Ravens have yet to build the longevity of the passing game for Lamar Jackson. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are not going anywhere unless due to injuries or inconsistencies, which would be rare. After going through Odell Beckham Jr. and Diontae Johnson and now DeAndre Hopkins, they need someone more long-term. Perhaps, Meyers could fill the hole since he does have the same body type and hands as Bateman and Flowers have.
