End the day here

Sunday’s Week 2 action wraps up with an intriguing matchup between two young quarterbacks on Sunday Night Football as the Chicago Bears take on the Houston Texans.

The Bears feature this year’s first overall pick in Caleb Williams while the Texans have the 2023 No. 2 overall pick and reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud under center. Also, both teams enter the contest 1-0, so we should be in for a good game.

This is your place to discuss the game with other Las Vegas Raiders fans and any gambling picks you have as the lines below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Bears vs. Texans

[Lines below are as of 11:30 a.m. PT on Sept. 13.]

  • Spread: HOU -6.5
  • O/U: 45.5
  • HOU ML: -295
  • CHI ML: +240

Holder’s Picks: CHI +6.5, Under 45.5, HOU ML

This is a tough one to pick because I think Chicago is a solid team this year but Houston is still a step ahead, hence the hedge by taking the points but still picking the Texans outright. Williams has to be better than he was in the season opener, but the Bears also have a strong defense and proved they can score without having the ball by blocking a punt and recording a pick-six last week. Also, I like both defenses for the under.

As of Thursday’s injury report, wide receivers Keenan Allen (heel) and Rome Odunze (knee) haven’t practiced this week while offensive lineman Ryan Bates (shoulder/elbow), fullback Khari Blasingame (hand/knee) and tight end Marcedes Lewis (rest) were also DNPs on Thursday. Offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie (quad) was limited as well as defensive end DeMarcus Walker (foot).

Meanwhile, the Texans didn’t list players’ specific injuries but tight end Dalton Schultz and safety M.J. Stewart didn’t participate in the team’s first two practices of the week. Wide receiver Nico Collins, running back Dameon Pierce and center Juice Scruggs were limited on Thursday.
