Steve Nash Offers New Update On Ben Simmons

March 26, 2022 by The Spun

Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons on the bench.

Ben Simmons has not yet made his debut for the Brooklyn Nets. However, it sounds like he’s starting to make serious progress in his recovery process.

Speaking to reporters this Friday afternoon, Nets head coach Steve Nash said Simmons is “feeling a lot less pain.”

It was recently reported that Simmons is dealing with a herniated disk in his back. He had an epidural last week to alleviate some of the pressure in his back.

Steve Nash said Ben Simmons “is feeling a lot less pain.” Still not on the floor. Seth Curry and Goran Dragić are probable for tomorrow.

Earlier this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic had an update on Simmons. He said the Nets expect the All-Star to play at some point this season.

“I think they’re going to be cautious with it, but there’s an expectation around the Nets that Ben Simmons will play this year,” said Charania on The Pat McAfee Show. “It’s going to be about him ramping up and feeling healthy.”

With only nine games remaining in the 2021-22 regular season, time is running out for Simmons to return before the start of the postseason.

Perhaps we’ll see Simmons back on the court at some point in the coming weeks.
