Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett plans to play football for the 2022 season, but it may not be with Georgia.
Bennett had the game of his life against Alabama after he finished with 224 yards and the two touchdown passes, the last of which was the game-winner.
He helped lead Georgia to its first National Championship since 1980.
During an interview with Good Morning America, Bennett didn’t fully commit to being back in Athens for next season.
“I’m here to play football for the University of Georgia. Once that’s over, whatever my interest will be, which is hard when you’re playing college football because you don’t get internships, you don’t get all that stuff, you don’t get the time off that other students get,” Bennett said. “But once that is over with I’m majoring in economics, I’d like to go to law school. But for the next year? I’m gonna play football. I’ve got a decent amount of years. I’m going to play football this year. We’ll see where. We will see if I can trust the decisions made by the staff, and we will see where I’m going to play.”
Bennett finished this season with 2,862 yards through the air along with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
If he decides to enter the transfer portal, there will be no shortage of teams lining up for his services. Georgia also has JT Daniels ready to go if Bennett decides to leave.
