The Golden State Warriors are hoping to have Steph Curry back in time for the NBA’s postseason, but it remains to be seen if that’ll happen.
Curry is dealing with a sprained ligament in his foot. He’s expected to miss multiple weeks and it’s unclear if he’ll return in time for Game 1 of the playoffs.
As NBC Sports noted, this could put the Warriors in tough position.
The long-term implications of Curry’s injury are obvious. If he can’t come back or isn’t 100 percent, the Warriors have no shot at winning the NBA title. Period.
But the short-term ramifications of Curry’s injury also could be massive for a Warriors team that still hopes to have their Big Three healthy for the postseason. (We still are waiting for official word on Curry’s timetable as of Friday morning.)
With 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Warriors are 47-23 and in third place in the Western Conference. They are one game behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 2 seed but are effectively two games back since Memphis would hold the tiebreaker by winning its division.
Curry addressed his injury status on Sunday night.
Here is Steph Curry detailing the specifics of his foot injury and recovery. Says he believes he will return before Game 1 of the playoffs: “I’m an optimist.”

The NBA world is hoping for the best.
“Gonna be tough with no Wiseman, front court too small. You have zero chance with no Steph tho. Hope he’s back soon!” one fan tweeted.
“He’s back probably for the last game of the season or two,” another fan predicted.
“Get him in hyperbaric oxygen therapy asap and he’s all good!!” one fan added.
Golden State is currently 47-23 on the season.
