Avery was originally picked by the Cleveland Browns at the 2018 NFL Draft before spending the last two and a half with the Philadelphia Eagles. Cleveland traded him to Philadelphia in October of 2019 for a fourth-rounder in last year’s draft.
He’s coming off the best season of his career after he finished with 43 total tackles (21 solo) and one sack.
He’s played 53 games in his career to date and has totaled 101 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 11 tackles for a loss.
Pittsburgh has yet to announce the signing, but it’s likely he’ll be used as a depth piece. Myles Jack and Devin Bush look to be penciled in as starters for next season at the inside linebacker spot.
This offseason continues to be busier than normal for the Steelers as they have more money to spend.
