Former Kentucky Wildcats star turned NBA player Rex Chapman, who’s better known for his Twitter account these days, is covering the NCAA Tournament for Turner Sports.
Chapman, who has more than 1 million followers on Twitter, is part of the coverage of the “First Four” in Dayton, Ohio this year.
Sports fans and media types have been taking to social media to weigh in on Chapman’s performance this year.
Chapman is getting praised for some of his insight, though others are questioning his presence on television.
Rex Chapman was literally a college basketball legend at Kentucky then played in the NBA 12 years. Turned his life around after drug addiction and that should be celebrated. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Rex Chapman needs to work on showing any personality. He may be saying great stuff but I can’t get past just how uncomfortable he is.

There are 330 million people who live America and somehow Rex Chapman is currently on my TV doing studio analysis for March Madness.

Kind of awkward seeing Rex Chapman in the studio halftime show ripping off what everyone else has already said without attribution

How mad is Seth Davis that he has to work with Rex Chapman? This is all he lives for and they bring in a guy that apparently nobody interviewed or tested out

I keep thinking Rex Chapman is SVP. When I realize it’s not I get sad

It’s still early on in the NCAA Tournament, so perhaps Chapman will get more natural on television as things progress.
Rutgers and Notre Dame, meanwhile, are currently playing the final “First Four” game on truTV.
