Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin is set to be one of the new co-hosts of ESPN’s First Take, appearing on every NFL Monday for a “discussion” with Stephen A. Smith. And NFL fans couldn’t be more excited.
ESPN announced today that Irvin will be a part of a rotating cast of guests working alongside Smith and Molly Qerim Rose. Irvin and Smith will discuss the most interesting moments from the weekend’s games as well as emerging stories.
The new format is set to begin on Monday, September 6. Other guests in the new format will include Paul Finebaum, Keyshawn Johnson, Mina Kimes, Kimberley A. Martin, Monica McNutt, Jessica Mendoza, Chiney Ogwumike, Dan Orlovsky, Kendrick Perkins, Marcus Spears, Brian Windhorst and Damien Woody, among others.
But fans are most excited about seeing Michael Irvin and Stephen A. Smith go at it debating the Dallas Cowboys. Smith is arguably the biggest Cowboys hater on the planet – or at least the most high-profile. Irvin is a Cowboys legend and one of the team’s biggest cheerleaders.
Fans quickly took to Twitter to express just how excited they are to see the two go at it:

Michael Irvin and Stephen A. Smith have verbally sparred over the Dallas Cowboys numerous times over the past few years.
Now it’s going to be a daily morning ritual on NFL Mondays.
Heaven help us all.
