In one of the biggest surprises of the offseason, Randy Gregory has agreed to a five-year deal with the Denver Broncos.
The Dallas Cowboys announced on social media that Gregory agreed to an extension with the team. Then, shortly after that announcement was made, reports came out that Gregory might flip his decision.
According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Cowboys included salary-forfeiture language in Gregory’s contract. That led to the Nebraska product backing out of his agreement.
The Broncos, meanwhile, felt comfortable offering Gregory a five-year contract without that additional language.
Gregory’s departure will certainly leave the Cowboys with a massive hole to fill on defense. This past season, he had 19 total tackles, 17 quarterback hits, six sacks and three forced fumbles.
FOX Sports personality Skip Bayless is visibly disappointed in Gregory’s decision, which isn’t a surprise considering he’s a Cowboys fan.
“Shame on you, Randy Gregory,” Bayless tweeted. “After all Jerry Jones did for you … you do THAT to him.”

Gregory has missed a significant amount of time on the field due to off-field issues. However, the Cowboys constantly supported him through every situation.
Perhaps that’s why Bayless is frustrated at the moment, albeit Gregory is entitled to sign with whichever team he wants.
