Raiders’ ground attack was anemic in 2024
The Las Vegas Raiders will feature a dramatically changed running back rotation in the 2025 NFL season.
And the franchise hopes it means it will bring big improvement as well. There is no doubt the Raiders desperately needs to improve the ground game.
The Raiders running attack was pretty awful all the way around last season. One area was the short game. A recent tweet by NFL analyst Warren Sharp showed the Raiders were stopped for no gain on 36 percent of their attempts in short-yardage situations last season. It was the third highest (worst) rate in the entire league.

So, the next time anyone wonders why the Raiders used the No. 6 overall draft pick on Ashton Jeanty, ugly stats like this can be pointed to. Change was badly needed.
