PFF has given high grades to 2 members of Raiders’ draft class of 5 years ago
Let’s face it; the Jon Gruden-Mike Mayock wasn’t famous for strong overall draft success.
The two had some miserable whiffs in the draft room. But it wasn’t all board. They did have some hits and highlights of their draft success was in 2019 when they were able to get running back Josh Jacobs in the first round and great draft steal, defensive end Maxx Crosby in the fourth round.
According to Pro Football Focus’ grading metric, both Jacobs (who signed with the Green Bay Packers in free agency in March) and Crosby are among the league leaders, regardless of position, from the 2019 draft class. Here is the list:

So, the Raiders got clear value from the class despite some classic Gruden-Mayock whiffs.
There’s no doubt, Crosby has a chance to go one as one of the Raider’s all-time value draft picks and Gruden and Mayock deserve some credit for that.
