Raiders’ 3rd-year tight end predicted to break out in 2025
Michael Mayer has always been known for his potential since the Las Vegas Raiders traded up to take him with in the second round (No. 35 overall) in the 2023 draft.
But the Notre Dame product has been slow to produce. Mayer, who missed six games in 2024 due to a personal reason, had just 21 catches for 156 yards last season after having 27 receptions for 304 yards as a rookie.
So, it’s time for him to take the next step in his NFL career and Pro Football Focus thinks that’s exactly what he will do. The site has Mayer on their 2025 All-Breakout Offensive Team.

If PFF is right about Mayer, it will make an improved offense even more dangerous with new quarterback Geno Smith having an impressive array of weapons.
