After just one year of action Las Vegas Raiders Brock Bowers was voted the #1 tight end by ESPN

The Las Vegas Raiders surprised the NFL in 2024 by drafting Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in the first round. While it was questioned at the time, after Bowers played a whole season, it was a smart decision by Tom Telesco.

Bowers came out swinging in year one with the most receptions by a rookie at any position with 112. He added 1194 yards and four touchdowns with inconsistent quarterback play. It has Raider Nation wondering if he can have an even bigger season with Geno Smith as the signal caller for the offense.

While the Raiders have appreciated Bowers, NFL executives and coaches see his abilities as well. ESPN does its yearly rankings of every position with votes from executives and coaches. Bowers made history by becoming the first rookie to become the number one player at his position.

“Great person, hard worker, instinctive, great hands, matchup problem due to his speed and athleticism with elite [run after catch] ability,” an NFC executive said.

Added an NFL coordinator: “He sort of just floats around out there. Game comes naturally to him.”

Bowers getting this praise from the NFL isn’t suprising after his performance year one. The exepections for him to have an even bigger year solidfy his spot as sky high. Bowers blue collar style to football allows fans to believe he can duplicate his rookie season in 2025.
