Marchand is also reporting that Payton will be on both “Fox NFL Kickoff and “Fox NFL Sunday” each week. The former is the network’s Sunday morning show, while the latter is the network’s top pregame show.
Payton has also been drawing a lot of interest from Amazon Prime Video for its “Thursday Night Football” pregame show, per Marchand.
This will be Payton’s first gig since he stepped away from coaching the New Orleans Saints at the end of the 2021 season. He coached the Saints for 15 seasons and finished with a 152-89 regular-season record.
He also led the Saints to a Super Bowl championship in 2009 over the Indianapolis Colts.
He could coach again down the line but for now, he’ll be taking his football expertise to television.
