Sean McVay knows how integral Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp are to the Rams‘ longterm success plan. Keeping them happy is priority No. 1.
McVay revealed on Tuesday that he and the Rams have had good dialogue with Donald and Kupp about new contracts. Although no deals are imminent, it appears both sides are committed to working things out.
It’s likely McVay and the Rams will focus solely on the 2022 NFL Draft right now. They’ll then turn their offseason attention to players deserving of new contracts.
The bottom line is the Rams will likely extend both star players.
“Rams head coach Sean McVay said they’re still taking things a day at a time with new deals for DL Aaron Donald and WR Cooper Kupp, have had ‘good dialogue’ with both players,” said Stu Jackson.

“Those are things that are still at the forefront of our thoughts,” McVay said.
There is a sense of urgency for the Rams to get this done.
Aaron Donald pondered retirement after finally winning a Super Bowl. He did end up deciding to return for the Rams, though. Rewarding him with a new contract is the right idea.
Kupp, meanwhile, was lethal in the postseason. He was practically un-guardable and came up with big play after big play.
Expect both Kupp and Donald to get new contracts from the Rams this offseason.
