Scott Frost Has Message For Nebraska Fans After Loss

Scott Frost is trying to convince as many fans as possible that Nebraska is still capable of having a special season.

This is a pivotal year for Frost, in particular. The Huskers went 12-20 in Frost’s first three years with the program, leading some to speculate this season could prove to be the last straw if Frost can’t at least lead Nebraska to a bowl game. Well, that may prove difficult this fall.

The Huskers began the 2021 season on a sour note this past weekend. Illinois and first-year head coach Bret Bielema almost ran Nebraska off the field, though the final score (30-22) was much closer than the actual competition, which was mostly lopsided in favor of the Fighting Illini.

So where do Frost and the Huskers go from here? The Nebraska head coach sent a message to fans on Monday, urging them to keep the faith.

“I hope nobody lost excitement after Saturday,” Frost said on Monday. “This team still has a chance to be really good. This team will prove a lot to a lot of people. … We need you there.”

Scott Frost’s message is in response to Nebraska’s home-game sellout streak being on the line this coming weekend. Not only are the Huskers coming off a defeat, they now host a lackluster non-conference game against Fordham.

Nebraska fans are among some of the most loyal in college football. That loyalty has been put to the test over the years, but this season is a whole new challenge.

The Huskers take on Fordham this Saturday, Sept. 4 at noon ET on Big Ten Network.
