The San Francisco 49ers continue to bolster their secondary unit with free-agent signings this offseason.
Last week, the 49ers signed Charvarius Ward to a three-year contract.
On Friday, the team announced the signing of veteran cornerback Darqueze Dennard on a one-year deal.

Dennard was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2014 draft. After his six-year stint with the Bengals, he spent time on the active roster for the Falcons and Giants.
In 2021, Dennard bounced around as a practice squad player before signing with the Niners on January 4. He ended up appearing in one game and logged one tackle.
Dennard is the fourth defensive back to agree to a deal with the 49ers this offseason. In addition to signing Dennard and Ward, the team also re-signed cornerback Dontae Johnson and added former Colts safety George Odum.
Dennard will look to earn a spot on the 2022 active roster among these new additions.
