Sam Darnold’s future in the National Football League is unclear at the moment.
The former New York Jets quarterback didn’t have a great season in Carolina. However, the Panthers don’t have a proven answer at the position, so it remains to be seen what will happen with Darnold moving forward.
Darnold, who starred collegiately at USC, appears to be comfortable with his position.
The former USC Trojans star admitted on a Bussin With The Boys podcast appearance that he “knows” he’s a good quarterback and whatever happens is out of his control.
“I know I’m a good quarterback. I’ve proved it,” Darnold said.

Darnold might be a good quarterback, but most would push back on the claim that he’s already proven it.
“This interview must’ve been from the first…because this is definitely an April Fools Day joke,” one fan tweeted.
“Still seeing ghosts,” one fan joked.
Some are still a believer in Darnold, though. He’s still young and perhaps he’ll get a chance to start somewhere.
“I’ve always had faith in this guy I don’t think he’s a long term guy but he can be like a Teddy Bridgewater and bounce around teams as a starter,” one fan tweeted.
The Panthers, meanwhile, seem ready to move on – or at least they’re trying to. They’re reportedly set to meet with several quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft class.
It will be interesting to see where Darnold will land.
