The New Orleans Saints will have a decision to make soon about the status of their preseason finale as Tropical Storm Ida moves closer to landfall.
In a statement released tonight, the Saints said they are keeping an eye on Ida, which is projected to make landfall Sunday afternoon and could be as strong as a Category 2 Hurricane. New Orleans is supposed to host the Arizona Cardinals at 8 p.m. ET Saturday night.
A decision on the game will be revealed tomorrow morning.
“We are monitoring Tropical Storm Ida and will have more definitive information tomorrow morning from which we can make the safest decision possible relative to the game on Saturday,” the statement reads. “We are in touch with city officials, the National Weather Service, Homeland Security and the NFL.”

The two most likely options here appear to be moving the game up to Saturday afternoon so the Cardinals can get out of town before the storm hits or canceling it entirely. We won’t have to wait very long to find out what the outcome will be.
We’ll keep you posted on the final decision tomorrow.
