The New Orleans Saints added a veteran defensive back to their roster this Friday, agreeing to a one-year deal with former Kansas City Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen.
This past season, Sorensen had 51 combined tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions and one sack. Overall, he finished his Kansas City career with 407 tackles, 33 pass breakups and 12 interceptions.
Even though Sorensen could prove to be an impact player on special teams for the Saints, the team’s fan base isn’t exactly pleased with this signing.
“Dawg when we said we wanted a safety from KC we meant Tyrann,” one fan tweeted. “To hell with this offseason.”

The Saints’ secondary will look a bit different next season, that’s for sure.
Last week, the Saints lost star safety Marcus Williams. He signed a five-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. In an effort to replace him, New Orleans signed former New York Jets safety Marcus Maye.
It’ll be interesting to find out what Dennis Allen’s vision is for Maye and Sorensen this fall.
