Outside of Scottie Scheffler, who is on the verge of winning the tournament, no player finished with more flourish at the Masters than Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy shot an eight-under 64 on Sunday, going from one-over par to seven-under for the tournament. He is virtually locked into a second-place finish behind Scheffler.
On his final hole, McIlroy managed to hole out from the bunker on 18, sending the crowd into a frenzy. It was the perfect cap-off to a tremendous afternoon for the 32-year-old from Northern Ireland.
Incredibly, McIlroy said his birdie on the last hole was the happiest he’s ever been while playing golf.
“To play as well as I did today and then to finish like this, it’s absolutely incredible,” McIlroy said. “This tournament never ceases to amaze. That’s as happy as I’ve ever been on a golf course right there.”

Considering McIlroy has won four major championships, that’s a pretty bold statement. The shot was awesome though, and Collin Morikawa duplicating the feat by holing out from the same bunker moments later made it even better.
We’ll see if Rory can take any momentum from his strong final round at Augusta with him in the coming weeks.
