The Baltimore Ravens could be very active over the next few days, as the front office is currently shopping rookie cornerback Shaun Wade.
Wade was selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of this year’s draft. Although he has performed very well in the preseason, the Ravens might not have room for him on the depth chart.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the Ravens have already engaged in trade talks involving Wade. It’s unclear what the asking price is for the Ohio State product.
“I’m hearing the Ravens have been engaged in some trade talks involving rookie fifth-round corner Shaun Wade, who played at Ohio State,” Zrebiec reported on Twitter. “Ravens have a logjam at defensive back right now and they don’t have the roster space to keep them all.”

Wade was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he chose to return to Ohio State for one more season. He wasn’t as productive as he thought he’d be last fall, which is why he fell to the fifth round.
In a perfect world, Baltimore would keep Wade on its roster for the 2021 season and allow him to learn from the veterans. Unfortunately, a scenario like that doesn’t often exist in the NFL.
A trade involving Wade could happen soon since 53-man rosters are due by next week.
