Schefter added that Stafford’s new deal should actually help out the Rams’ cap situation this offseason.
“Matthew Stafford’s new deal is expected to help the Rams to sign other free agents and help keep the Super-Bowl team together,” Schefter tweeted.
The Rams have already made a huge splash this offseason, adding Allen Robinson to their receiving corps. They could potentially add a playmaker or two on defense in the coming days though.
As long as Stafford is under center, the Rams should feel pretty good about their chances of making a Super Bowl run.
