Raiders Rumors: Jalen Ramsey Not On Team’s Radar

June 27, 2025 by Raiders Nation

Jalen Ramsey, Dolphins, Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have undergone numerous changes to their defensive personnel this offseason. Maxx Crosby remains the heart and soul of the unit, but players such as Robert Spillane, Divine Deablo, Tre’Von Moehrig and Jack Jones are no longer here.

The franchise made some additions this offseason, including Jeremy Chinn and Germaine Pratt, to the defense. There is potential for the unit to take a leap this season. One area that remains a major question mark, however, is the secondary and cornerback in particular. A big name has emerged on the trade block in Miami Dolphins corner Jalen Ramsey, but it doesn’t sound as if the Raiders are eyeing him right now.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ramsey is not on the Raiders’ radar at the moment, though veteran cornerback Mike Hilton of the Cincinnati Bengals could be:

Ramsey is not on the Raiders’ radar. Hilton could be someone they look at.

Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks of this era, having been a Pro Bowler seven times and a 3x First Team All-Pro selection in his nine NFL seasons. He has totaled 534 tackles, 108 passes defensed and 24 interceptions in his career and would almost definitely immediately take on a starting role if he were to join the Raiders. However, he also comes with a substantial salary and would require the Raiders to part with some draft capital to acquire him.

Hilton is also a veteran, having spent eight seasons in the NFL with the last four of those coming with the Bengals. He has 520 tackles, 56 passes defensed and 13 interceptions in his career and, unlike Ramsey, is an unrestricted free agent so that the Raiders could sign him outright and for a far cheaper price.

If the Raiders were to make a move for the secondary, it likely won’t come until training camp as the coaching staff gets a better look at the players they already have and decides whether reinforcements are needed. But whatever the case may be, Jalen Ramsey in the silver and black seems highly unlikely right now.

Raiders love ‘amazing skill set’ new safety Jeremy Chinn brings

The most significant addition the Raiders made this offseason to their secondary was bringing in safety Jeremy Chinn, who spent last season with the Washington Commanders. And the coaching staff is already loving what he brings to the Raiders, noting his skill set that allows him to line up in multiple positions around the field, while also having great instincts and being a leader on the defense.
