Veteran wide receiver trying to make Las Vegas’ roster again
The Las Vegas Raiders signed wide receiver Phillip Dorsett as a free agent recently.
Let’s take a closer look at Dorsett:
Size:
5-10, 185 pounds.
NFL experience:
Dorsett is entering his ninth NFL season. He has played in 94 games with 20 career starts. He has 151 career receptions for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdown catches. He hasn’t played much in recent years. He has played in 23 games since 2021 and last played in 2023 when he played two games for the Denver Broncos.
College:
He went to Miami and was a first-round pick (No. 29 overall) by the Indianapolis Colts in 2015.
Raiders ties:
Dorsett was in training camp with Las Vegas in 2023 under coach Josh McDaniels. Dorsett also played two games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2021 when new Las Vegas coach Pete Carroll was there.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Dorsett, 32, has his work cut out for him and he tries to return to the NFL after not playing last season. He can stretch the field, but the Raiders’ wide receiver group is filled with several young players. So, Dorsett needs to have a great training camp and preseason to make the 53-man roster in Las Vegas this summer.
