UPDATE: The Raiders have added a cornerback. According to his agent, the Raiders have signed veteran cornerback Desmond Trufant.

The Raiders haven’t announced the addition and it may not officially happen until Wednesday. Trufant, 31, was cut by the New Orleans Saints last week after playing two games.

The Las Vegas Raiders, along with every other NFL team, routinely work out unsigned players on Tuesdays during the season.

However, there was nothing routine about the Raiders’ workout list this week. Three of the four players Las Vegas took a peek at on Tuesday are all former first-round draft picks. The headliner is former Raiders’ first-round pick, cornerback D.J. Hayden. The Raiders, then in Oakland, drafted Hayden out of Houston with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2013 draft.

Along with Hayden, cornerback Darqueze Dennard and offensive lineman D.J. Fluker are both former first-round draft picks. Dennard, 29, was cut by the Arizona Cardinals last month. Fluker, 30, was cut by the Miami Dolphins in August; and Hayden, 31, was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Hayden was a disappointment for the Raiders and left in free agency to sign with the Detroit Lions after four seasons. He did become an effective player for the Jaguars in 2018, however.

Will the Raiders sign any of the players? Possibly. They are thin at cornerback and they always look for depth pieces on the offensive line.
