Las Vegas has new manager of Football Data Science and Engineering
The Las Vegas Raiders have hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach. He is building his new staff. He has reportedly hired Andrew Fedele as their manager of Football Data Sceince and Engineering.
Let’s get to know Fedele better:
Last job:
He was in the Jacksonville Jaguars analytics since 2022. He spent the previous five years in the San Antonio Spurs analytics department.
Ties to new Raiders staff:
Fedele was in the Jaguars’ analytics department with Ryan Paganetti, who was recently hired to the Raiders’ analytics department. Paganetti has a past with Raiders’ new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
What’s his duties:
Fedele will work with analytics with an expected big role in game-day management, assisting the coaching staff with data based on in-game situations.
Why the Raiders would hire him:
This is way the league has gone. Every staff has people like Fedele as part of the program. Raiders head coach Pete Carroll clearly trusts Kelly’s opinion and the Raiders feel strongly that Paganetti and now Fedele’s knowledge and opinion can be trusted and be part of the game-day process and help in the overall approach to the game in this current era.
