Las Vegas made the move official on Wednesday.
The Las Vegas Raiders have officially announced the re-signing of offensive guard Richie Incognito.
Incognito revealed via social media last week that he would be sticking around in 2021, but the new team-friendly deal was made final by the organization on Wednesday.
The Raiders released Incognito earlier this month to free cap space. He played in only two games last season but should be a key piece for a team that has shaken up its offensive line in a big way so far this offseason.
Incognito started in all 12 games that he played in during the 2019 season and was a Pro Bowl alternate for the Silver and Black. The four-time Pro Bowl selection will turn 38 on July 5.
The Raiders offseason to this point has seen them trade center Rodney Hudson and a seventh-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for a third-round selection. Offensive tackle Trent Brown was also traded to the New England Patriots, while guard Gabe Jackson was flipped to the Seattle Seahawks.
Stability upfront for Las Vegas was not seemingly valued in the early stages of the new league year, but Incognito’s return brings a familiar face. As far as what comes next, that is anyone’s guess to this point with free agency winding down and the 2021 NFL Draft coming in late April.
