Raiders News: Kolton Miller Signs New Three-Year Deal

August 2, 2025 by Raiders Nation

The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping that the new regime can lead the franchise back to relevance after years of losing.

A rough mix of poor coaching, drafting and free agent signings has cost the Raiders games but the current roster seems to have several players worth keeping long-term. For example, the offense has a legitimate veteran in Geno Smith to control the game flow while young building blocks like Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty look like superstars in the making.

Along the offensive line, Las Vegas has a key piece in Kolton Miller, who has become one of the best left tackles in the league. This offseason, Miller and the Raiders have been working toward a new, longer-term deal that better reflects Miller’s production on the field.

After months of talks, the two sides finally agreed on a new deal via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

The #Raiders have announced a deal for standout OT Kolton Miller, ending a months long saga and properly compensating him.

In terms of average annual salary, Miller is now in the top-10 among all left tackles in the NFL, and it’s deserved given how much he’s meant to the offensive line. Miller sat out voluntary workouts to begin the offseason, though he did report to the mandatory portions, which likely helped contract negotiations.

New general manager John Spytek hasn’t been shy to let free agents walk, but he also seems to understand which players the team should continue to build around. Spytek has now agreed to extensions with Maxx Crosby, AJ Cole and now Miller, shoring up three important pieces in each phase of the game. Aside from those three, Las Vegas can also extend players such as Jakobi Meyers and Daniel Carlson, two underrated pieces of the offense and special teams, respectively.

It’s going to take some time, but the Raiders appear to have a clearer direction and a path toward finally competing. It’ll be tough sledding to win many games during the 2025 season, but Las Vegas fans have every reason to be optimistic going forward.

Davante Adams says he and Jimmy Garoppolo were miserable with Raiders

The Raiders have had talented players come through their doors, but leave after disappointing showings. For example, Davante Adams said he and Jimmy Garoppolo were both miserable in Las Vegas, which speaks to the poor culture under the previous regime.
