Raiders News: Daryl Worley Signing With Cowboys

May 2, 2020 by Raiders Nation Leave a Comment

The Las Vegas Raiders roster has undergone a big overhaul this offseason with a number of key additions in free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft.

It’s no secret that the Raiders defense struggled last season, which was a big reason they finish 7-9 and missed the postseason once again. Because of that, the front office focused on using a majority of the team’s $58 million in cap space to improve the defense, signing playing like Cory Littleton, Nick Kwiatkoski, Damarious Randall, Jeff Heath, Maliek Collins and Carl Nassib.

That means that they weren’t able to keep some of their own free agents though, and cornerback Daryl Worley can now be added to that list. He recently took to social media to announce that he is signing with the Dallas Cowboys:

Worley spent the last two seasons with the Raiders, playing in 25 games and starting 24 of them. He started all 15 games he played in last season, recording 58 total tackles, eight passes defensed and an interception.

After trading Gareon Conley in the middle of last season and not re-signing Worley, the cornerback position was a huge area of need for the Raiders this offseason. They addressed it in the draft by taking Damon Arnette out of Ohio State with the No. 19 overall pick, and then Amik Robertson out of Louisiana Tech in the fourth round.

Trayvon Mullen will be one of the team’s starting cornerbacks, and the two rookies will likely compete with the likes of Nevin Lawson for the other starting job.
